Red Bull Music Academy, the international showcase of music culture, is hosting a special Sunday electronic showcase at the East Room. Get ready for a selection of tropical psychedelic bass from Dengue Dengue Dengue (Peru), with additional support from bleepy cumbia and dubstep merengue wizard Meneo (Spain), as well as Chi-town's own Future Rootz in the mix.
Highly contagious and liable to cause wide-spread dance fever, the duo of Rafael Pereira and RBMA grad Felipe Salmon, better known as Dengue Dengue Dengue!, have brought a new level of tropical madness to the cumbia world, fusing modern production savvy with traditional cumbias to create a compelling modern interpretations. MENEO is Rigo Pex, whose electropical beats, energetic stage presence and wild vocals have created a phenomenon that brings the party like no one else can.
The show will take place March 20 at East Room (2354 N. Milwaukee Ave) at 8:00 P.M. and is free with RSVP.
