Blue Zones are places in the world where people live the longest, healthiest lives. Researchers have found nine commonalities across these populations: Moderate, regular physical activity. Life purpose. Stress reduction. Moderate caloric intake. Plant-based diet. Moderate alcohol intake, especially wine. Engagement in spirituality or religion. Engagement in family life. Engagement in social life. This conference will highlight Chicagoland faith and health research that focuses on these commonalities and how they contribute to "thrivership" in the face of adversity, such as cancer and trauma.
