Come to the Table and make Auburn Gresham Stronger, Safer and More Dynamic

On Tuesday May 10, 2016, thousands of people across the Chicagoland region will gather together over shared meals to discuss ways they can better their communities in a region-wide initiative called On The Table.

On the Table, entering its third year, has provided a platform for Chicago-area residents – 40,000 total over the past two years – to come together as a community in small groups and talk about ways to make their neighborhoods stronger, safer and more dynamic.

“When we come together as a community with a shared commitment to listen, we learn from and with each other. We form and deepen our relationships with neighbors, friends and co-workers,” said Terry Mazany, president and CEO of The Chicago Community Trust. “From these relationships we will draw the collective power to impact both neighborhoods and lives.”

You can participate in On the Table by hosting a conversation in your neighborhood. The event can be anything from coffee with cookies to a five-course feast discussing the park around the corner or high school down the street – it’s entirely up to the host.

Become a part of On the Table by hosting your own conversation. For more information visit www.onthetable.com to register, find a host toolkit and tips on how to plan your event. We invite you to join the larger conversation using the hashtag #onthetable2016.

Let’s all work together to make our community and the Chicagoland region a little bit better – one meal at a time.
