One of the greatest barriers to earning a college degree is the cost. Approximately 70% of college graduates have student loans averaging $37,172 (U.S. News and World Report, Kantrowitz 2017).  The barrier of cost is compounded in low income communities, which typically have lower access to capital. JP Paulus, President of Do-Gooder Consulting, and I will discuss strategies to address financial barriers to college.  Paulus will talk about some of the issues students face when financing their college education; share winning strategies and provide an overview of the work Do-Gooder Consulting has done in the education and nonprofit arenas.  There will be opportunities for listeners to call in with questions and participate in live chats. Nonprofit professionals, community advocates, developers and other  community stakeholders are especially encouraged to call in and share their stories. The live call in number is (347) 884-8121.

“At the end of the day, I'd like listeners to walk away with a clear understanding of how to get started in finding resources to finance college education for themselves, their children or clients", Paulus said.  "not just the financial part, but 3 other steps vital to making WISE decisions for college, and making it worth it."
