UChicago Medicine is given “Good Neighbor Award” from Cara Chicago

Cara Chicago, a nonprofit leader in workforce development, gave its “Good Neighbor Award” to the University of Chicago Medicine. The event was held at the yearly Tribute to the Stars fundraiser in November. This award is given to a partner that supports Cara’s mission in its hiring and placement activities. Working with Cara, UChicago Medicine has supported 32 job placements since 2015 including 24 in the past year. UChicago Medicine has also provided funding for Cara’s employment programs. Cara and UChicago Medicine have partnered for the Cara Connects Program. The program hires candidates on a contract and permanent basis for UChicago Medicine’s new adult trauma services.

Bob Hanley, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at UChicago Medicine in his acceptance of the Good Neighbor Award said:
“UChicago Medicine takes very seriously its role in social responsibility. Work is fundamental to a person’s dignity and contributes to the growth and prosperity of our communities. We are extremely proud to be part of the Cara promise it makes to its participants that if you show up and work hard, you will get a job – and along with that, hope.”
