There are many reasons to keep the Ogden Park Post Office open:
1. Many community residents do not have internet access.
2. Many senior citizens and other residents do not have access to transportation to go to another area's post office.
3. "Village Post Offices" or private post office servicers will not be as accountable to the public as are U.S. postal employees.
4. Community gathering place.
5. Public bulletin board
6. Sending bulk mail
7. Obtaining special services, including Certified, Registered, Insured mail, Delivery Confirmation, or Signature Mail
8. When a loved one passes and his wishes are to be cremated, shipping those cremation remains, or cremains, to another location doesn't have to be a hassleThe cremated remains (ashes) may be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service “ registered mail-return receipt requested” .
