Terrific Tales Story Time is a FREE, fun and interactive time for the whole family to fall in love with reading! Each month, Center for Companies That Care holds these sessions at West Englewood Library, 1745 W. 63rd Street from 10:00am-11:00am. The dynamic readings of The Storybook Mom, a famous storyteller, are a highlight of each session!
This past month’s session was all about, “Taking Heed When You Read: The Importance of Words!” On Saturday, February 23, 2013, The Storybook Mom, Nili Yelin, captivated the audience with many books that evoked positive messages and introduced Terrific Tales participants to new vocabulary words. Two books in particular stood out: Exclamation Mark by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld and One by Kathryn Otoshi. Both books relayed the message that each of us has something special and unique to offer the world.
If you are interested in finding out ways to get your child engaged in reading at an early age, then I highly recommend that you come to next session. Not only will you, as a parent, learn fun storytelling techniques, but you also get to build your family’s library. Each child who attends takes home a plethora of goodies, including free books, t-shirts from the latest kids’ movies such as Rise of the Guardians and Jack the Giant Slayer and more! Free snacks are provided throughout each session!
Please join us as we “March into Spring” at the next Terrific Tales Story Time on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 10:00am to 11:00am at West Englewood Library, 1745 W. 63rd Street. To register for the next session, please call 312.661.1010 or visit our website at www.companies-that-care.org/tt-story-time-registration!
