My first Day At GAGDC
Marcus Butler
Published: July 9, 2013
My name is Marcus Butler; I am a returning senior at Simeon Career Academy. This year I will be interning at Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC) through Digiltal Youth Summer Job (DYSJ).
This summer, I expect to learn skills that apply to everyday life and future Careers. This job will help hone skills that I already have and the skills that I will need in the future to be successful.
When I first walked into the office (GAGDC’s), I noticed that the employees were serious and hardworking people.
The aura of the workplace is overall positive. I love the fact that I am able to do things at a relaxed and steady pace. When I come in I am greeted by my employer and mentor. I began working immediately. I’m never rushed and whenever I need help to understand a task, my mentor is willing to help. The tasks that are assigned are challenging at times because it requires critical thinking, however, I get the job done.
By the end of this program I will have all the skills required to help me excel in any aspect in the future.
