At the Dream Center, they commit to loving the forsaken, remembering the forgotten, and pursuing the lost in our society. They intentionally reach out to homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes, convicts, felons, and runaways. They are an equal opportunity agency. At the core, the Chicago Dream Center provides food, clothing, shelter, life rehabilitation, education, job training, and much more through our various ministries and outreaches.
Rose of Sharon evangelizes go every week on the streets of Chicago to reach those affected by addiction, prostitution and human trafficking. The Chicago Dream Center has five housing options that includes housing and support services for the following populations: women struggling with life controlling issues (New Life for Women), low income single moms (HOPE House for Women subsidized housing), homeless women with children (River of Life Homeless shelter), homeless men (New Life for Men Homeless Shelter), and at-risk and high-risk adolescent girls (HOPE House for Girls that operates as a Safe Families house). They are not your typical housing option. They have a home based model so clients do not feel they are in the typical institution or recovery program.
The New Life for Women is residential program that rescues and empowers women whose lives are controlled by domestic violence, drug and alcohol addictions, prostitution/human trafficking, homelessness, and other life-controlling issues through their housing and wrap around services for up to two years and support for a lifetime. The program model has four phases. Phase 1 is spent in a safe housing located in Chicago for up to 4 months. Phase 2 is spent on their farm located approximately 3 hours from Chicago for 8 months. Phase 3 and 4 comprise the second year and is located in Chicago, their farm or when appropriate at the clients home with case management. The main focus of Phases 3 and 4 is gainful employment and housing. Clients entering the program must complete 1 week detox prior to entry and make a one year commitment to complete Phase 1 and 2.
