In response to the outrageous actions - akin to a strike - of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) this week, and inaction by the School District, a $5 million Rescue Fund has been created by STOP Award founder Janine Yass in partnership with the Center for Education Reform (CER) to assist schools or programs that can immediately start or expand existing schools for students.

Effective January 3, 2022, for Chicago per Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the Chicago Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) any individual 5 years of age or older will be required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to dine indoors, visit gyms, or enjoy entertainment venues where food or drink are being served.
