South Side Teens Participate in ComEd's 2016 STEM IceBox Derby, For Young Women Only!

ComEd is holding its annual Icebox Derby. It’s a competition where young women ages 13-18 get a chance to build a race car out of an old refrigerator. This year, there's a new twist. The derby cars are adding a clean energy component and the cars are going solar!
"The competition is a fun way to encourage women into STEM programs. “STEM” stands for science, technology, engineering and math. The young women spend four weeks building their cars. The process culminates in an actual race, in August 2016.
