Project H.O.O.D. (PH) is partnering with the Illinois Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC-IL) and Preservation of Affordable Housing's Woodlawn Resource Center (POAH) to enroll and train up to 20 young men and women, between the ages of 18-24, in pre-apprenticeship training.
Training and certification are Core and Carpentry Level 1 in a 10-week course with 10 students. Training will be split into two groups. The technical training will be conducted by ABC-IL instructors while the Woodlawn Resource Center instructors provide supportive employment coaching and services.
Do not be deterred if you have a criminal background, this program is for those who are ready to change their lives.
The program, training and certification are our main objectives.
It will be your choice to become union or nonunion.
*Orientation is not guaranteed placement in program
*No tardiness allowed
*Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
*No admittance after 9:00 a.m.
*No exceptions
