HACIA in partnership with IDOT, DCEO, and IWE are very proud to present the new Minority Contractor Training Program (MCTP). This program is designed for owners or managers who want to learn small construction contractor best practices as they begin their transition into the public sector of construction. This program covers the analytic skills needed to run a construction contracting business, addresses sales strategies, estimating & scheduling techniques, OSHA safety concerns, technology applications, green construction best practice and provides preparation for the LEED green associate exam. This training program is designed with a very interactive and hands-on approach based on adult learning theory and it includes presentations, demonstrations, activities and exercises, and multi-media tools. The program will be offered FREE of charge to all minority and non-minority owned firms. The program is scheduled to begin MARCH 14th 2011.
