On June 8, 2012 the Cleanslate Crew and eight Deloitte Consultants co-partcipated in a neighborhood clean up project in the Auburn Gresham Community. Cleanslate (a part of the Cara Program) provides transitional employment and important job skills to amazing individuals in the Chicago area. Deloitte and Cleanslate spent the morning focusing on litter abatement and neighborhood beautification on the streets surrounding the Auburn Gresham Community Center.
Cleanslate Crews around Chicago focus on street cleaning, separation of recyclables, removal of unwanted signage and graffiti, snow removal and de-icing for parking lots and sidewalks, light landscaping, mowing, trimming, and pressure washing. Cleanslate also works at special events providing clean up and maintenance services.
Approximately 60 Deloitte employees volunteered for the Cara Program on June 8th providing mock interviews and job search skills to the Cara students. Deloitte met with the Cara Program leadership to maximize current Cara Program processes. Deloitte's IMPACT Day is an annual event where individuals from Deloitte offices in every city go out in their communities and volunteer for the day.
The Deloitte Consultants enjoyed this experience and we all look forward to volunteering for the Auburn Gresham Community and Cleanslate in the future.
