Open Books, a literacy non-profit organization and social venture in Chicago, is bringingReadThenWrite, a reading, writing, and publishing experience for teens, to Fairfield Elementary in Chicago Lawn this month.
Volunteers will work with 6th-8th graders every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:00-4:15pm during a 7-week session running from October 29th to December 12th. This is a great opportunity to support a local school, help young authors improve their literacy skills and express themselves, and get to know other volunteers passionate about education. After the sesssion, Open Books will publish the students' work and celebrate it at an official book launch party at the Open Books store.
For more information or to sign up, fill out our volunteer form or email volunteer@open-books.org.
