Registration Open for Fall 2013 Term at City Colleges of Chicago

Quality, affordable education to prepare for

further college or a career available at locations throughout city

Now is the time to register for the Fall 2013 semester at City Colleges of Chicago before the first day of class begins August 26. City Colleges of Chicago offers a wide-range of quality, affordable educational options from certificate and associate degree programs to English as a Second Language and GED high school equivalency instruction.

City Colleges’ College to Careers programs prepare students for the more than 500,000 jobs coming to the Chicago region in fast-growing fields, including: health sciences, business, advanced manufacturing, culinary/hospitality, information technology, and transportation/distribution/logistics.

For students interested in transferring to a four-year institution, City Colleges offers a wide variety of transferable courses. Courses labeled “IAI” in the City Colleges academic catalog have been approved by the Illinois Articulation Initiative and will transfer to the more than 100 Illinois colleges and universities participating in IAI. Students who complete the first two years of college at one of the seven City Colleges can save up to $40,000 versus comparable coursework elsewhere. A 60-credit hour associate degree costs approximately $6200, significantly less than those same credits would cost at four-year institutions. Program length and course fees vary so students should check with an advisor for more information.

Registration is now available for the new Weekend College, launching in the Fall 2013. Open to any college-ready student with no prior college credits, Weekend College allows students to earn an associate of arts degree in five semesters while taking classes at Kennedy-King College on Friday evenings and Saturdays as part of an accelerated, full-time course load pathway. More details can be found here.[1]
