Supporting Chicago's Entrepreneurs: Marketplace Brings New Health Coverage Options

Illinois’ new health insurance marketplace is open for business, and it’s already providing small business owners and their employees with improved options for affordable coverage.  Open enrollment for 2015 begins on November 15. In the meantime, employees and self-employed folks can use an online calculator to determine if they’re eligible for a subsidy to help cover the cost of insurance for coverage in 2015.

As part of its ongoing commitment to fight HIV/AIDS, Walgreens is collaborating with Greater Than AIDS to help offer free HIV testing in support of National HIV Testing Day, June 27.  Free testing provided by health departments and AIDS service organizations will be available to the public with no appointment necessary at 27 Walgreens stores in Chicago. Illinois Passes the Half Million Mark for Health Coverage Under the ACA

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today released numbers for the six-month open enrollment period that show that more than half a million people in Illinois have obtained health coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA).
